Shopping is fun?!

As some of you know I am do not shopping not one bit but some point you have to do it. A girl that I strength train offered to go with me and be my personal shopper. Thank you so much Pam! She pretty much picked out the clothes and I tried them on. Loved it! Here a couple of the outfit we picked out.
This dress I will be wearing to my sons graduation. It feels good to know that I have that picked out and I think it look appropriate. Now do figure out what to do with the hair. and oh make up? I am so not a girly girl some times. But I am attempting to get there. I also bought another pair of jeans that are getting altered. I have big leg so in order to fit my legs it tends to be big in the waist. This is the first time I have jeans altered and I am excited to get them and see how they fit.

Since I didn't know how long we were going to shop I brought my lunch with me in a cooler. I ended up eating in the parking lot of Costco. I got done cloths shopping at noon and since I train out that way I thought it would be silly to go home to turn around come back. I pick some stuff at Costco. I ended up at the gym early and did 45 minutes of cardio before my strength training session. I normally don't like to do that because I think it takes some of the energy away from the training session but it work out well today.
I was bummed that I forgot to take a picture of lunch. It was quite good and I will have to have it again so you can see. It was marinated garden lentil pita: lentils, chopped cucumber, shredded carrots, red bell pepper, lemon-flax vinairgrette stuffed in a pita. I attempted to stuff it in the pita but it was too mess to eat it this way in the car. So I ate it with a fork with the pita om the side. A great satisfying lunch.
Dinner was amazing! If you haven't tried tempeh you have to give it a try. It is now one of my favorite protein sources. Yummy! This dinner was called Pad-Thai-Style Tempeh. It contained whole-grain spaghetti, peanut oil, lime juice, garlic, salt, 2 ounces tempeh, broccoli slaw, chopped peanuts and chopped green onion. I will definitely have it again. The combination of the broccoli slaw and pasta with the temeph fabulous.
If you don't know much about tempeh it is made from fermented soybeans. It has a fantastic firm and meaty texture. It comes in a long, thin rectangular package in the refrigerator section of many grocery stores. A 4 ounce portion has about the same amount of protein and twelve times the fiber as 4 ounces of chicken. Why don't you give it a try?

This mornings breakfast. Typical breakfast with refried beans. I wasn't sure if I would like beans and eggs together but yet again I was pleasantly surprised it was quite tasty and quite filling. I scrambled one whole egg and 2 egg whites, spread 1/3 cup of refried beans on a whole-grain tortilla topped with the eggs a little part-skim mozzarella cheese and a dash of hot sauce.
Yet again another great breakfast!!
I was hoping to be able to do my cardio out doors today but it looks like rain. So I will do a few thing around here this morning and then head to the gym for 30 minutes of cardio. I have one new recipe to try today. Not sure what I am going to do when I get through the book and try all the recipes. I will have to venture to others blogging and start trying some of their recipes.
Marisa - I made your hummus last night but yet to give it a try. I will let you know how I like it. I think there might be hope to enjoying clothes shopping!!

Kathi, you look great! Love the jeans!! I'm like you with fitting the jeans/pants. Everything I buy is gaping at the waist, but is the size I need to fit the junk in the trunk -lol! Glad you had a good experience :)

I've wanted to try tempeh, but haven't been sure exactly what to do with it. Thanks for that idea, it sounds good!

Hope you like the hummus!

Love the jeans and the dress is great- I would do a sexy updo- just a simple bun with some wisps at your face. Will be perfect for a graduation!

Good idea to take lunch with you!
